Mark Bacilla has worked as a performing guitarist, vocalist, studio musician, teacher, and producer for more than 20 years. He holds a B.A. in Music from San Diego State University and an M.A. in Musicology from the same institution. The San Diego jazz fusion group SPEED OF SOUND , which performs and records his original compositions, has received national airplay and recognition in national magazines such as Musician and Strictly Jazz. Speed Of Sound has performed on stages with national/international acts such as Alan Holdsworth, Simply Red, and Alex Acuņa as well as notable San Diego artists such as Peter Sprague and Holis Gentry. The group is currently working on a 5th album project and can also be heard on several jazz compilation CDs.
